Rosetta Technologies Introduces New Series of Desktop Laser MICR Printers

Rosetta Technologies, a leading provider of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) printers and check and Image Replacement Document (IRD) software solutions, today announced the launch the SP 3710DNM, a desktop printer featuring All-In-One (AIO) print cartridge technology designed to make in-house check printing easy and cost-efficient for any business.

Developed in partnership with office equipment industry leader Ricoh, the SP 3710DNM is a 34-ppm laser printer with a recommended volume of up to 5,800 prints per month and a maximum duty cycle of 35,000 prints per month. The compact and affordable SP 3710DNM combines Ricoh's proven AIO print cartridge technology for maximum uptime and ease of use with Rosetta's best-in-class magnetic toner, MICR fonts and software for a most reliable MICR printing solution. Designed for small to mid-size businesses generating payroll and expense checks, accounts payable and insurance claim checks, or money orders and tax refund checks, the SP 3710DNM offers a number of advanced printing features, versatile network connectivity, and several security capabilities including data encryption, a unique RAM-based Locked Print function and lockable media trays to make in-house check printing workflows more secure. Excellent for businesses with multiple bank accounts, the SP 3710DNM uses blank check stock to reduce printing expenses by eliminating the need to inventory preprinted checks for every account. A high-yield 5,000-page MICR AIO toner cartridge delivers finished checks for just pennies per page. Plus, for greater value customers can swap out the MICR cartridge for a standard (non-magnetic) AIO print cartridge in seconds to handle daily Windows and Macintosh general office printing needs in addition to check creation.

"We recognize that every business needs to print all kinds of documents, including checks. The SP 3710DNM is a great solution for small offices that don't have the space, volume, or resources to install multiple printers," stated Rob Hullar, President of Rosetta Technologies. "With the SP 3710DNM, not only do we guarantee that every check will meet or exceed all industry standards for adhesion, character sharpness and read rates, we know the inherent reliability of Ricoh's engine and AIO technology makes for a great general office solution as well," continued Hullar. "That's why we're so excited to bring this all-purpose model to our customers. It can be the do-it-all printer for a small business, or part of a fleet of distributed network printers to handle all MICR and non-MICR volumes with complete confidence."

The SP 3710DNM MICR Laser Printer is available in three configurations; Standard, Secure and Secure+ versions. Every model ships ready to print checks and includes Rosetta Technologies’ E13B and CMC7 MICR fonts and OCR-A fonts, plus a full yield 5,000-page MICR AIO print cartridge. The Standard model is equipped with a 250-sheet tray and automatic duplexing for sheets up to 8.5" x 14" plus a 50-sheet News Release Bypass for printing onto envelopes. Customers with greater security needs can step up to the SP 3710DNM Secure with its locking paper tray to safeguard check stock. The SP 3710DNM Secure+ adds a second locking 250-sheet Paper Feed Unit to keep two trays of check media safe at all times. Every member of the user-friendly SP 3710DNM series is powered by a 350 MHz CPU with 128 MB RAM to quickly process every job, and offers a tilting 4-line LCD panel for at-a-glance job and supply status.

"Our relationship with Ricoh goes back many years because they have a proven history of producing printers that perform exceptionally well as platforms for MICR applications," said Hullar. "We are very pleased to continue to partner with Ricoh to bring the next generation of compact, affordable and reliable check printing systems to our customers."
