Rosetta Technologies Posts Profit in Difficult Year

- New customers, continued broadening of product set, drive growth of MICR solutions company -

Tampa, FL - July 21, 2009

Rosetta Technologies, a leading provider of desktop, workgroup and light-production MICR printers and payment software solutions, ended its 2009 fiscal year on April 30th, with a profit. The results were due in part to the addition of more than 75 new customers, the introduction of five new products and the company’s continued commitment to an exclusive MICR partnership with Ricoh, an industry leader in digital output solutions.

In 2009, the company saw an exceptional 284% growth of Rosetta workgroup MICR printer sales, while also retaining its strong presence in the production MICR printer market. Driven by a growing market share, Rosetta Technologies increased its profit by 184%. The company continued to invest more than 10% of its revenue into continuing research and development in fiscal 2009.

“Considering the state of the economy and the importance of the financial services vertical to the MICR market, I am encouraged by the continued growth we have experienced and especially our increased penetration of the workgroup MICR market,” said Rosetta Technologies’ president Rob Hullar. “The results validate our strategy, and more important, are a testament to our employees and their commitment to Rosetta’s success.”

Rosetta Technologies’ introduced three new MICR printers: the SP 3300 MICR 30 ppm personal MICR printer, the SP 8200DN MICR 50 ppm light-production workgroup MICR printer, as well as a secure version of the popular SP 4110N MICR model. Additionally the company launched the CheckStream suite of check printing software and the MICR Print Manager platform for distributed print management and control.
